Girl Child Education Support

Girl Child Education Support is the core of CGC's operations and an entry point through which beneficiaries are able to receive a wider range of our holistic services. We believe that girls will be able to change their own lives and those of their families at large. Key areas include:

  • School fees and scholastic materials
  • Career guidance and Provision of sanitary towels
  • Accomodation at tertiary level
  • Capacity building of teachers to create child friendly and safe schools
  • Apprentice equipment and starter kits to excelling vocational graduates
  • Annual Fred Kasozi memorial camp for skills inspiration

Child Protection

CGC's child protection programme aims at promoting a safe and friendly environment for all children in our target communities. Through lobbying and advocating for the rights of children within these communities, child protection structures such as Child Protection and Monitoring Committees (CPMCs), the Police Family and Child Protection Units, Local Councils and School Management Committees have been engaged to report, respond and follow-up cases of child abuse. Some activites include:

  • Child care and monitoring, Child friendly communities' capacity enhancement
  • Parenting classes, Recommitment
  • Legal Clinics, Training paralegal volunteers
  • Commemorating internal days of protecting children
  • Messaging and Radio calls
  • Empowering and training girls to be resilient
  • Girl-Child Rights Governance
  • Engaging Boys and Men as champions
  • Aligning with S.D.G 5.3 to end all forms of violence

Health and WASH

The CGC's Health and WASH programme is aimed at increasing knowledge and positive attributes and practices associated with sexual and reproductive health among students in partner schools and their communities. With support from the Rotary Club of Kiwatule, Drop Foundation and CGC North America (CGCNA).

  • Water sources (Boreholes, Water Filters, Under-ground water tanks, Home water filters and training in sanitation and hygiene)
  • Sanitary Towels and Menstrual hygiene management
  • Girls Changing rooms at School
  • Health Rights and Awareness
  • Nutrition
  • Direct Medical Services (Medical care services and screening camps)
  • Referrals

Advocacy
