50 Out of school youth graduate in Apprenticeship courses - April, 20th,2012

Through the recently concluded OVC welfare Project funded by the Civil Society Fund, CGC sponsored 50 Out of School Youth (OVC) in Nakaseke District to attend apprenticeship training. Under the OVC welfare project, Economic strengthening was one of Core Programme Areas. 50 out of school youth from the OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) Households were selected to attend the training. The youth were placed in different training centres of their choice of skill ranging from Tailoring, Hairdressing, Motor Cycle mechanics, Motor Vehicle Mechanics and Welding. The youth were trained for a period of six months and there after provided with start up kits to enable continue with their acquired skills. All the youth completed their courses and recieved including; Hair dressing kits, welding kits, sawing machines, to mention but a few.
